For an incredible team building event run by you, play Team Trivia, a DIY virtual or in-person game that we created just for you utilizing the power of Kahoot! This fast, fun, and interactive quiz game turns your participants into game show contestants and you’re the host!

Participants use their phones to answer quick multiple-choice questions with categories including movies, food, music, science, and more. The faster players answer, the more points they earn, and they’ll see their name climb the live leaderboard in real time. It’s easy, it’s hilariously competitive, and it’s a surefire way to get everyone laughing and cheering each other on. No pressure—just bragging rights and a chance to show off some quick thinking!

Team Trivia is perfect for any size group and you can lead this team building activity in-person or online. 50 questions, fun facts, and a built-in intermission allows you to set the pace. We recommend allowing for 1.5 hours but you can speed things up or slow them down as desired.

As the host, we’ll provide you with access to lead Team Trivia and participants don’t need to download any website information. They’ll just scan the QR code from your screen, create a player nickname, and then the games afoot! If the host would like to provide prizes, we recommend nominal prizes like medals or low denomination gift cards. The event should be focused on the team experience vs the prize. Our Team Builders Plus online store offers prizes, including medals that you can add to your cart for one-stop shopping.

So, what are you waiting for? You could be the next Wink Martindale, Jane Lynch, or Steve Harvey. Hey team leader, they’re calling your name. Come on down. You’re the next host on Team Trivia!

FAQ

What is the best team size?
We typically recommend teams of 5. However, teams of 3-6 can also work well. 7 or more people per team will not be as engaging for all of the participants.
Is it better to predetermine the members of the teams or randomly assign people to teams?
The answer to this question depends upon your goal for the session. Sometimes, participants are comprised of several teams from one department. In these cases, our clients tend to like to preset the teams so that people can interact with people they don’t work with on a regular basis. Other times, groups are comprised of a single team or department and randomly assigning teams works fine.
Who forms the teams?
We can randomize small groups on the spot, but for groups larger than 20 people, we recommend you form the teams ahead of time. If you are preselecting the teams, we suggest you disseminate this information to the participants either at the program or prior to the event. We do not recommend reading off of a list at the beginning of the program.
What is the typical length of the program, and is this flexible?
A typical program runs 2.5-3 hours. Half hour flexibility is easy in either direction. The program can be shortened to a minimum run time of 1.5 hours.
How much set-up time is needed?
2 hours
What about prizes?
We bring Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals.
What are the space requirements?
The more, the better. This event needs both tables and open space. If this is being done inside, we recommend 1 60” round table and chairs for each group of 5, then have 3 times that space in open space in addition. (So you need the total space of 4 times the number of round tables/teams you have.) And we’ll need 4 8’ long rectangular tables at the front of the room. The same space is required outside, but there the challenge is probably the tables and not the open space. Microphones and sound are needed for groups larger than 40. It is possible to do this outside without tables; it’s just challenging.
What if we’re outside and the weather is bad?
We offer several different rain plans, for an additional charge. We can bring ponchos, we can bring an indoor activity, or we can reschedule.
How physical is this? We have people who are not in the best shape.
This is designed for people who work in offices all day. There is nothing that requires athletic ability.
What is the best attire for this event?
Dress for the weather, being active, and wear comfortable walking shoes.
Can this be done over drinks and appetizers?
We strongly discourage this.
What’s the difference between scoring and debriefing?
Some groups just want to add up points and declare winners. Some groups also like to have a light debrief to talk about the experience and discuss strategy, obstacles, and tell stories. We can do either or both.
How is the scoring done?
The facilitator announces the winners of each event. There are points for 1st, 2nd, 3rd places and completion. This encourages everyone to finish the activity and not just give up once the first team is done.
